Save the Rural Society International

Save the Rural Society International (SRSI) is a non- profit making non-governmental non-political and non religious organization. SRSI has established in 1998 In Ethiopia and currently USA based humanitarian organization working in the Horn of Africa. Horn Africa has become the land of hunger, war, famine, and disease. The Horn of Africa is considered one of the poorest regions in the world, and recurrent droughts continue to plague this region. Long wars and ethnic conflicts have further difficult the already dreadful situation. The most recent United Nations studies estimate that 16 million people in the Horn of Africa are in vital need of food and other humanitarian aid.
SRSI is a registered 501(c) 3 nonprofit, tax-exempt organization based in Minnesota and South Dakota. All donations are tax-deductible. Tax ID # 45-1344466

Mission

SRSI Objectives

The over all Goal of SRSI is to achieve of Food Security and sustainable livelihoods at the grassroots level. Inline with this, the Organization strives to:

  • Secure rural/Pastoral livelihoods;
  • Build Drought/Disaster resistance capacity;
  • Build Capacity for development & Accountable governance;
  • Empower women, pastoralists & other marginalized groups
  • To participate in the reduction of HIV/AIDS epidemics
